The Berean was created by Keith Fitzpatrick, who wanted a simple, easy-to-use way to follow Bible reading plans and track his progress but could not find an existing tool that did what he was looking for. What began as a personal Bible reading tracker developed into a web-based application designed to make daily Scripture reading straightforward, organized, and easy to track across computers and mobile devices. The Berean was first deployed on August 9, 2026, and as it developed, additional users were welcomed as a way to share this blessing with others and encourage them in the regular reading of God’s Word. Its name is drawn from the Bereans in Acts 17, who “received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily.” Above all, The Berean exists to encourage faithful, consistent engagement with Scripture for the glory of God.
